Design ~ STA has designed an after-market suspension kit to suit late model Commodore derivatives including:
Monaro
Commodore Sedan
Statesman
Utility
Station Wagon
Development ~The kit was developed in close cooperation with Peter Brock. Prototype kits were fitted to the 05 Monaro for Targa Tasmania in 2003 and 2004 and performed faultlessly. The use of the kit in Commodore-based vehicles is endorsed by Peter Brock and is fitted to his own car. Additional development work & testing has been carried out since Targa to further refine the dampers & springs.
Availability ~ The product is currently being manufactured and will be
available as a complete kit in Jan 05.
Wheels and Tyres ~ With the STA suspension kit fitted, the following wheels(with 265 section tyres) can be fitted:
Front 18” x 9”
Rear 19” x 10”
Ride Height ~ Measured from the centre of the wheel to the highest point of the inner edge of the wheel arch, the vehicle can be lowered to:
Front 335 mm
Rear 350 mm
Kit Contents ~
Front Extra heavy duty height adjustable strut assembly comprising:
Heavy duty strut tube manufactured to STA specification in Germany
STA 46mm damper with force characteristics suitable for club motor sport & tarmac rally applications. It is fitted with the patented IAS valve
Threaded strut tube with adjustable aluminium lower spring platforms
Heavy duty GMH or other standard replacement strut top (The kit has been especially designed to retain the standard Commodore top strut mount)
Eibach heavy duty springs made to STA specifications
Elastogran bumpstops designed by STA
Rear For both live rear axle and IRS
Heavy duty STA dampers
Heavy duty Eibach springs
